Karl (Carl) Fahringer (1874-1952), Wiener Maler, Zeichner. Studierte 1892-1898 an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien und 1898-1902 in München. Nach einigen Anfangsschwierigkeiten lief das Studium in Wien sehr gut, bis er sich anlässlich eines hohen Damenbesuchs in der Akademie splitternackt als Skulptur in eine Mauernische stellte. Er war 1903-1905 Mitglied des Hagenbunds (Ausstellungen), unternahm Studienreisen nach Italien, Frankreich, auf den Balkan und nach Ägypten, war 1914 -1918 Kriegsmaler und wurde 1929 Professor an der Wiener Akademie Er ist vor allem als Tierdarsteller bekannt geworden; vier große Deckengemälde „Wilde Jagd" im Künstlerhaus.

The studies went well in Vienna, till he was putting himself naked as a statue into a niche of a wall when a lady of the High Society was visiting the academy. He was a member of the Hagenbund (expositions) 1903 -1905. Travels to Italy, France, Balkans, and to Egypt. 1914-1918 he was painter of war pictures, and 1929 he became professor at the academy of Vienna. He was well-known for his pictures of animals; i.e. the four large ceiling frescos "Wilde Jagd" in the Künstlerhaus.
